About Venous Ulcers
One of the potentially serious complications that can result from untreated varicose veins is leg ulcers. There are three basic types of leg ulcers:
- Diabetic ulcers found in people with diabetes
- Arterial ulcers that occur in patients with poor circulation in the legs
- Venous stasis ulcers that are common in individuals with varicose veins
At Incredible Veins, we are experienced in treating all types of leg ulcers. These sores are usually treated most effectively when they are caught early. If you suspect that you are developing any sort of leg ulcer, contact our office to schedule an appointment for a thorough examination, diagnosis and customized treatment program.
Leg ulcers are open sores that can appear on the ankle, between the toes or on the underside of the foot. They can be very painful and infection within the wound is a common concern. Treatment can be complex and should be customized to a patient’s precise situation. A treatment program will probably include measures to reduce pain, heal the wound and speed recovery.
